 The Bioethics Program in the New York Medical College (NYMC) School of Health Sciences and Practice (SHSP) is a multidisciplinary academic program that integrates the scientific, social, philosophical and practical aspects of bioethics. The program is designed to teach students how to identify, analyze, manage, and propose concrete solutions to complex ethical issues at the intersection of science, technology, and policy. Students will be equipped to deal with current challenges in research ethics, global ethics, clinical ethics, and organizational ethics. The program will prepare its graduates for rewarding careers in health sciences, biomedical research, health law, chaplaincy and other related fields.

As technological advances continue to evolve and change the future of medicine and health care, ethical issues in culture, health policy, and religion are some of the problems that impact society. The Bioethics program at NYMC centralizes addressing ethical issues from legal, health policy, religion, culture using philosophical models to address these challenges. Our faculty leaders concentrate on responsibly preparing our future ethical leaders to address these challenges.

Courses in
Bioethics 

The Bioethics courses will train our future leaders in ethics how to navigate ethical issues by applying moral theories and ethical frameworks used in bioethics. Students can also focus on the bioethical principles in the Jewish legal tradition, as well as their relation to the ethics of modern scientific practice.
